The recent alarm management seminar held in Aberdeen by Matrikon Europe Ltd (TSX:MTK) proved to be a huge success. As well as presentations from Matrikon’s own senior engineers, the UK’s HSE (Health & Safety Executive) was there to talk about the importance of continually improving process alarm management from a legislative point of view.

Perhaps one of the most interesting presentations was given by Shell who demonstrated how they have gone about their own alarm management activities on some of their flagship assets in the North Sea.

Other presenters included EEMUA, authors of EEMUA 191 'Alarm Systems – A Guide to Design, Management and Procurement' and ABB Engineering Services.
